Willow Counseling Services was founded in 2019 with a specialized focus on infertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood mental health. This work was deeply personal to our founder, Alisha McCanney, LCSW. As Willow grew, so did the vision for providing specialized care to other communities that have always been close to home.

 

Before becoming a therapist, Alisha served as a Military Police Officer and law enforcement has remained close to home through both her own experience and family connections. The first responder community has always been a population she felt strongly about serving, but expanding into this area wasn't something she wanted Willow to do simply by adding “first responders” to a list of specialties.

Instead, Willow has taken an intentional approach—investing in first responder-specific training, learning directly from public safety professionals, and creating opportunities for clinicians to better understand the culture and environments in which first responders work.
